Manual says it's a YTZ10, which the Internet seems to think is the same battery. It does fit perfectly where the old battery was, and I checke and confirmed the bracket will go on in place. I also noticed that, unlike the factory battery, this one isn't threaded, so the bolts are probably ok with the appropriate terminal nuts.

So, this just leaves the terminals themselves as an issue.

The factory isn’t threaded either, you are missing the nuts that go in the terminals.
They can be inserted either way; from the side or Bottom.

How much was the battery? I know that Battery Plus has an AGM Extended Life battery for the Vulcan S for around $70 bucks with their 10% discount. I wouldn't put a battery in there that doesn't fit properly even if it is just the terminals and nuts.

Yeah this one was 90 bucks. Fortunately there's a Batteries Plus not too far from here so I'm going to swing by and compare the terminals on these two if they have it in stock

Getting the proper battery is key for your charging system as well. Buy the proper battery for your motorcycle and invest in a 1.25 amp battery tender.

This is the correct battery. I was pretty sure as soon as I saw the terminals, but I took it home and popped it in just to be sure.

Note that this battery is different than the battery listed above for the ABS model.

At $90, it's the exact price of the one at AutoZone, however this one has a 12 month warranty where is Auto Zone only had a 3 month.

Glad it fits. Weird that it's not the same they list online. Why would the battery be different for the ABS model? Which btw is the only Vulcan S they show. Oh well, it's fixed and that is the main part.

 

I don't know why they would be different but you are correct, their website only shows ABS. However, their system in the store lists the non ABS as this battery.

WOW, that looks pretty Generic with multiple terminal openings. Battery Sharks actually sells that one for $25 Bucks so you know it must be Good :grin2:

I bought the bike used but I believe it to be factory, so 3 years or so.
