Is hyper blink bad?

Alright, I purchased my bike with LED turn signals. I know how to fix hyper blink, its been covered here with awesome detail. My question is, do I need to? I feel like it makes my signaling more noticeable, and if its not damaging anything it really doesn't bother me. That's the problem though, I can't seem to find a clear answer if it is going to cause shorts and blow my LEDs eventually or anything like that.

As always, any help is appreciated.

from what I understand it wont hurt a thing and several people go with that look. leds are designed to withstand a lot of hours of run time so I wouldn't worry about it

Don't know if it would hurt the control unit, but as long as it is not flashing more than 120 time a minute, it's legal (legal range is 60 - 120 flashes per minute). If it is more than 120 flashes per minute, you could get pulled over for it.

I know this is an old thread, but I have the same question. I added a light bar and LED turn signals on only the front and left the rear with the standard bulbs - 2009 Nomad 1700. The LEDs are doing the rapid flash thing and I think it looks fine. I also ordered resistors but haven't received them yet and would prefer to not have to find a spot to mount them since apparently they get very hot and the headlight bucket is already jammed for space. Any further thoughts on whether it would hurt anything in the turn signal circuits if I just lived with the rapid flashing on the front and left the rear as incandescent?

Any other thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.

You can also look into a solid state flasher relay to replace the bi-metal one. The electronic flasher is not dependant on circuit resistance.
