Hey all to even give this title an explanation is painful. But as I was tightening the cam tensioner bolt on my 92 Vulcan 1500 it broke off. And I mean the smaller bolts next to it not the tensioner bolt with spring. But am at a complete loss on what to even do because since then have tried to drill them out and more and havent done anything but make it worse. No matter what ive used jb weld and all kinds of stuff but am leaking oil still and old part doesnt fit right anymore.Suggestions and any help please.

Hi T42,
  1. Remove the cylinder
  2. Heat the broken bolt remains and spray with Aero-Kroil
  3. Center punch the bolt remains.
  4. Use a left hand drill bit and begin to drill the remains of the bolt. Drill as straight as possible. If the bolt doesn't begin to retract using the drill bit then use a tap for a hole size close to the bolt size that is broken and tap the remains. If this fails, then drill a hole for that hole size being careful not to misshape or enlarge the hole and then re-tap for the correct size.
  5. You may have to enlarge the hole and rethread it if none of the previous options work.
