Have I am been scammed?

I have a 1999 500 project. I purchased it with front end damage and some cosmetic issues. I recently purchased forks off of Ebay, and they look nothing like mine after arriving. I checked with the seller and they claim that they are off a 95 en500. I did research on the forum and everyone says they should be the same, with the exception of one person who hinted at a diference but was unsure. Can anyone verify this? Have I been sold non EN500 parts? The Fork tubes are different diameters, the trees are different sizes and finishes, and the neck pin is not only a different size but a different shape.

I wouldn't say you were 'scammed' in the traditional sense but there are two different models of Vulcan 500 out there. the 'A' model produced from 1990-1996 and the 'C' model (aka LTD) produced from 1996-2009. Since I haven't seen them side-by-side I can't say with 100% certainty how different they are but I'm pretty sure they are different.

Simply put you got the front end for the wrong model. You need parts for a 'C' model.

Hope this helps.

I have both an A and a C model. The main difference is that the A model has the axle set off the side of the fork and the C model has the axle in the middle of the fork. I believe the rake is different between the two bikes and the handlebars are higher off the ground on the A model so I thing they might be a little longer. If you can find a front Brake rotor off the A model you could use the forks on the C model but things might look/ride a little awkward. You need the A brake rotor due to the axle location which causes the brake caliper to be located slightly different. Also you'd have to do some customizing to get the fender mounted or find an A model fender.

Where are you located? I might be interested in them if you are close. One of the fork tubes on my A model is shot. Adding to what Bill said you need forks from a '97+ as in '96 both models were sold so you'd have to be careful as to what you were getting.
