Is there a place to go I can find the actual-specific ECU model part number that was used for my year Vulcan S by inputting the VIN? I find on Kawasaki the exploding parts diagram But apparently (I was told) there can/may be different ECU model number for any given year?

The link shows it's part number 21175-1197 But the diagram gives no other details like that are printed on the ECU itself -- as seen below.

So maybe JK112600 number is a serial and thus not needed?

When you post include the year and exact model of your bike. would suggest going into your profile and add the bike information or add it to your signature line.

From your previous posts, I see you have a 2022. Here is a link to an OEM parts supplier. Also a list of the years and models where the ECU was used.

AH... nope. You're following perfectly. I actually just got off the phone with Steve from Shoodabeen. 1st off -- the guy gives incredible CS! He was really generous with his time and information.

An hour later.... Essentially some of what he said was just that ^^ --that there's various ECU's for the same bike depending on the geographical locations and therefore he could not be sure mine was a 1196 or 1197 --however in the case my current ECU was a 1196 he COULD successfully flash a 1197 to be a perfect 1196.

I was trying to jump the gun, doing this without popping the tank off and looking to see what model # the orig. one was. that will be the next thing I do.
