How do I tell if it’s a Classic or Custom?
From what I’ve been able to find the main difference is cast vs spoke wheels and mid vs forward mount controls.
Sound about right?

TIA,

Kawasaki used to have a link to check VINs. It seems to be gone, even though searching their website says it's there. They do have a phone number to call, but it's not toll free.

There are free sites to check VINs. Some don't give a lot of info, but it might be enough for you to get your question answered. Goggle is your friend.

Thanks Sabre-t; I tried several different venues and the best info I came up with was what I posted. I purchased an aftermarket exhaust that was supposed to fit but didn’t, hence the question.
Thx!

That would make sense - different pegs, wheels, add A windshield, etc.
Problem came up when ordering an exhaust - the one I ordered interfered with the clutch actuator arm, and none of the bolts lined up.

Thanks - when I tried it it wasn’t very specific.
I guess the fact that it has a B in the vin indicates a Classic?

I'm pretty sure that it’s a Classic, given the mid-pegs and spoke wheels.

Thanks everyone!

The B would seem to indicate a Classic. Maybe they sent you the wrong exhaust or they were incorrect saying it was compatible with a 900 Classic.
