Well, I went for that ride.
The added height and slight pullback on the handlebars seemed better. But I will need a longer ride to be sure.

The throttle response from the Ivan tune was noticeable. I have always had carbureted in line 4s, so when the Vulcan shook due to the speed being lower than optimal for the gear based on turns or traffic or the like, I just assumed it was a v twin thing. I was wrong. It was a lean fuel mapping thing. I am now able to roll off and back on to the throttle without shaking or downshifting. I can also use 6th gear at around 65mph and still gently accelerate without the engine shaking the bike. And that is in the Kentucky hills.
I have also noticed it accelerates quicker in every gear. I caught myself over the speed limit several times, due to not being used to the new throttle response.
It also seemed to run a bit cooler. I didn't feel the usual heat above my right foot.
It definitely added some fuel to the mixture, I could smell it when it was idling in front of the garage door.
The last thing I noticed was the cold startup clatter of the IAC was gone.

resist the temptation to start up your bike motor during winter storage, the hot then cold combo in the crankcase produces water vapors that = water on metal rust parts = rust

I have no winter storage. I find a few days each winter month I can ride. And when I do, it's at least an hour.
