Contacted seller via text. We made a deal and he sold the seat to someone else. Bad business.

Are you serious ..?

You start the relay low-balling me then after agreeing on a price ... you tell that you dont have the money but that you will contact me when you do. The same thing I have heard 3x other times on this sale.

3 days later another buyer offers me asking & immediate payment.

I extend the courtesy of sending you a text to let you know it sold so you dont pass on any other deals while you are waiting on your bonus or whatever the reason was that you didn't buy it when you had the opportunity.

You msg me 4x times this morning with a lecture on my obligation to sell it to someone who never even left a name ... for less ... pending a future ability to pay for it.

Sorry it didn't work out but cash closes deals. Not hopes, dreams or IOUs from strangers.

I informed you that I was planning on using my bonus check that was mailed on the 21st to pay for it. I never said I didn't have the money on hand. A bonus check is just that...bonus money to be used on fun stuff.
Secondly, when I made you the offer, I asked if you would accept it or were you firm on the price. If you were firm on the price, say so. Don't agree to meet in the middle, and then jump at the next person who offers you $25 more.
All I was saying is that it would be common courtesy to not jump to conclusions that everyone you speak to is a flake. I told you more than once that I definitely wanted it, and once I got my check (which came today btw) we would work out payment arrangements and your response to me was "sounds good". Maybe I'm wrong, but us agreeing on a price, and agreeing on the time frame sounded to me like a done deal. Had you told me when we spoke Wednesday that if you get another offer before the end of the week as discussed that you'd take first money, I would have understood. But you never said that so If you had other offers, you should have at least gave me the option to counter since we spoke first.
So yes, in my opinion what went down was bad business and I stand by my comment.

This is very simple.

You had the opportunity to buy ... you didn't have the money ... by the time you did the seat was sold.

I am pretty sure you are going to be hard pressed to find anyone who is going to reserve a sale from a cash buyer for someone who made a low-ball offer on a vague reassurance to pay later contingent on someone else paying them first via an anonymous text.

If this was such a big deal where not getting the seat means you have to berate me with text messages and cry about it online you should have sent whats called a "deposit". Its not my problem that you didn't or that you lacked the initiative to find any other way to solidify the sale while the item was available
