My 05 vulan 800 with about 12000 miles will turn over but not fire.
The bike sat for 2-3 weeks pulled it out of heated garage and it did not fire. I drained as much gas as i could and put fresh stuff in same deal. I did jump it with a car and got it to fire then it backfired and stalled and never fired again. The air filter looks clean, replaced spark plugs, kill switch and kickstand switch are both good. Tried starting then jumping it still turns over but does not fire. I have spark. When the key is turned on I hear nothing. battery around 12.7

update i check some connections and put it all back together and it fired up and ran for 2 seconds then died. A second attempt was just the same turn over but no fire.
But i forgot to install a cord it has direct connection to battery and the other end has a male female like something that goes into and video game system it also say 75 watt

Check the small hose on top of the carb at the 12:00 position. This goes to the small nipple on the fuel petcock and opens it when the engine creates vacuum.

Update it runs! I pushed in the the 12 o'clock hose on the carb and it runs.
But I still have this extra power cord that I am not describing well. One end has two terminals for the battery then it has a 75amp fuse on it then the other end has a male and female end that plugs in somewhere.

My guess, if you havent moved wires around before or removed battery before, this cord is there so that you can hook up a battery tender.

When riding this hooks to nothing.

Hope you mean a 7.5 amp fuse. Sounds like the cord you are talking about is for an accessary that may not be on the bike now, or as said above, maybe for a battery tender.
