Well, as is my luck, the ideal engine guard/highway bar for me is the Kawasaki OEM that fits the Custom. It's a nice gloss black that would fit in nicely on my bike. Problem is, it's for a Custom not a Classic.

Based on pics, the OEM engine guards for Custom and Classic appear to bolt on in the same place, BUT their shapes are different.

Does anyone know if you can use a Custom highway bar on a Classic?

Otherwise I may be stuck with getting a chrome bar. The only other black ones I have seen are the Lindby Unibar in black (not a fan of the shape/look) and the Highway Hawk fat bar in black (hard to find pegs that fit a 1-1/2" bar).

So like, 7 years later I will report that the answer to this is YES. I ordered the guard for the custom (K32000-045B) in black and it does indeed fit my classic. The customer requires some extra parts that I did not have to utilize.

I'm still learning to handle a cruiser (coming from sportbikes) so I added this for confidence reasons, if I drop I drop, nbd.

They look great. I am very new to bikes and I have a 13' 900 Custom. Was this dificult to install? Any tips of tricks? Things I should be aware of?
