How wide tire will fit stock swingarm with no modification to it ?
I plan to modify stock wheel to size 18X9.5 and redo fender and fender stays.
Motorcycle being shipped to me and should arrive within 6 weeks and I want to prepare everything before then.
All comments welcome
Thanks,
Chris

If your changing out the fender, you can fit a 300 in there.

If your keeping the fender, 250.

Not sure if I can clear belt, but 280 is my goal , this is why i want to widen stock rim to 9,5" (min size for 280 Metz) or maybe 10,5". Of course size wil be changed from 16 to 18 for rim diameter.
Fender will be chopped and widened too.
Still have to decide how to mount fender - to stays or to swingarm, close to tire.

This is my last build: (not Vulcan)

Chris

i see you have a lil v17 warrior.. yes, did trik one out in 02.. not a comfy bike, butt it did run like a boh!

if you slamm it down low, you wont need to strut the fender..

That's a sweet build.

I know britt use to make an aftermarket fender for the V2k, which was used if you wanted a fatter tire. I don't think they make it anymore.

But you can google "Vulcan 2000 fat tire" and see lots of images where people have them.

There is only about 1.250" clearance between the belt and rim on the left side and 1.750" between the rim and swing arm on the right with the stock, 6" rim.

Looks like swingarm got to be modified to accept 280 :(
Also front and rear belt pulley got to be offset.

maybe my memory is off.. but I sure was thinking the britt fender was for a 300 tire.

maybe it was a 250 though.

Have you seen this build from 2009? It has a section where it talks about the swing arm and tire. But they only use a 250 on it.

Yea, I've seen it - hoping to fit 280, but looks like without major modification not gonna happen .
They fit Avon 250 which is tad wider than Metz 260
I saw swingarms on ebay for about $90 - maybe will buy one for modification - still have to check belt clearance to main frame with offset pulleys.

How much for swingarm shipped to Chicago IL 60634?- I can do PayPal
Friend of mine will take care of forwarding it to Poland.
This how I do shopping in US ;)

I bought one off ebay last year, had it painted, and swapped it out on my bike.

My original one is up in the attic, just sitting in the corner.

Send me a box big enough AND strong enough to carry it, and I'll give it to ya. Don't know how much shipping would be. It would be a heavy and BIG package...

After some research done i know what to do.
Stock swingarm will accept 250 tire on 8" rim with no modification.- fender got to be redone.
To fit wider tire swingarm got to be widened. - this s a route I'll go
I bought swingarm off ebay and will use it for modifications- will keep stock one to be able ride the bike for time being.
Also I bought rear rim for widening. - will change size to 10"X18.
pictures of mofified bike found on internet:

I'll be doing rim modification myself ( with help of my friends)
Will get 18X10 car rim, center part will be cut out to fit modified original Kawasaki rim.
later all got to be cleaned, spot welded and centered using dial gauge and then finally welded from both sides.
Pictures from rim modification for my Warrior

Thanks,
Chris
