Try it and let us know how it works. I think they would be too far rearward to effectively block the wind to the rider. JMHO

Most of us are installing lowers to eliminate 'buffeting', which is caused, primarily, by air that moves up front front of the fuel tank, behind the windshield. It's especially bad because behind the windshield is a 'low pressure zone' where everything else is a 'high pressure zone'. Moving the lowers back to the frame would move them BEHIND the tank instead of in front, allowing the air to flow up the tank and behind the shield again, creating the turbulence.
