Red has the longest wavelength of all colors.

Black is the absence of color so it has no wavelength.

So obviously black is faster because it doesn't have to travel anywhere. It is already there. UNLESS there is another color there.

So obviously the answer is .............. Pudding. :D

Well, if it doesn't have to travel anywhere, it really doesn't have to be too fast now, does it?:D
They don't call it "Ticket-me Red" for nothing!

Obviously, MINE is fastest.

Red has the longest visible wavelengths. Black isn't the absence of color, it's the combination of all the colors. If we were talking light emmitting substances then it would be absence of color. But as we're not it's only the absence of taste.

All well schooled gentlemen, and bikers, know Red to be the best color.

Thank you. I graciously accept your platitudes.

Lord not this debate. :p

Really it is the biggest debate ever. Google it and you will see.

Most physicists say that black is the absence of light hence the absence of color. If you can't see the colors then all you see is black. Hence black is the absence of color.

Chemists will say black is the combination of all colors. Mix and bunch of colors and you can get close to "black"

I don't really care.

These are both correct, one of them deals with light emissions the other with reflected light. When you look at your bike you are looking at reflected sunlight, not counting any lighting. Light hits the surface of your bike and reacts with the chemicals that make up your paint, chrome, whatever. Chrome reflects most of the light, you get a mirrored effect. The color you see is the light reflected that is not absorbed by the paint. In my case Red/Titanium. Black is a mixture of chemicals that absorbs all the other colors and thusely doesn't reflect any.

The Physcist deal with the wavelengths of emitted light. Each color having it's own wavelegth. Black is the lack of emission.

Anyways, they're both correct. One from emissions and the other what you mix to get the desired reflection.

But red is still the fastest.

oh man .. poor guy. burnt orange is so slow .. it well .. burned up .. :D
I'm afraid you have it backwards... It was originally called just Orange. But then the kawi folks did some testing and realized it was so fast that it started burning the paint off. Hence, Burnt Orange...
