I have been thinking about how hard it would be to adapt Harley wheels to the Vulcan 900. Seeing that there are 1000's of styles and lots of used Harley wheels out there that could be had for much cheaper than buying ones for our bikes. I have a good friend that has his own machine shop and I have a lead on a set of used Harley wheels from a softail. An 18" rear and a 21" front. The rear is for a 240 tire. The deal includes the front and rear rotors and pulley. This could all be had for $150. Its a cheap start. But is it worth trying?

With all that being said has anyone tried this? Is it even possible? Or do I just have a pipe dream here?

I welcome your opinions. Just wanting to start a project this winter and wondering if I should even spend the money to try.

I know for a fact it is possible. But I have no idea what all the details are. From my reading I have found people mention skoot works spacers and shims to make our axle fit the larger diameter hole in harley wheels. For $150 bucks I would give it hell and see what happens. I am sure you could easily sell them if you cant get them to work.

Now that you say that about Scootworks I remember seeing them for an 800 years ago. But I know when I looked I couldn't find anything. I may just bite the bullet and go for it. Maybe I'll just start selling my own kits. LOL

I am sure it is possible, anything can be fabbed for these bikes. There are limitless sizes and styles of bearings. What you need to look at as well is sprocket/belt side, and brake hook up... Would be more than glad to help you look into the idea as it is something I have contemplated. Pm me if ya like
