And this guy and all of his friends cleared out the local grocery store. Haha. 3" of fluffy snow that's already plowed off the streets and schools are canceled and the grocery stores are cleared out and empty of 'essentials'. Always the case with the first snow here. Then, in a few weeks when it snows again we might have 10" of snow with 1/2" of ice underneath and nobody will bat an eye.

Dunno what it is about where I live, but it snows 3-4 times a year, sometimes more, sometimes not at all. The first snow, no matter how mild, always sends people into a frenzy like they've never seen it before. After that? They are ready for anything. Crazy!

Weatherman said we were gonna have ice here last night. Same kind of reaction.

Spent nearly the last three weeks in Georgia for work with temps ranging from 50s to near 80. My welcome home was 6" of snow on top of ice, -11F the first night, currently -17F with -30F wind chill.

This is not unexpected in MN in winter, but was a pretty big shock considering the last few weeks in tee shirts and maybe a windbreaker.
