Follow the break in procedure in the manual closely and you will get many many years of enjoyment out of it. I had an 07 that got me hooked on these little 900’s. Went back to a big sports tourer with double the horsepower of the Vulcan for a while….in the end, I missed the Vulcan easy life too much. Bought a 2014 900 last month and sold my sports tour. These are great bikes that have been around longer than any other mid sized cruiser that I know of. There is a reason for that. Where are you located

I'm going the other direction - from a Vulcan 750 to the 900 :) But, yes, it's virtually a new bike so will have to be careful for a while !
I'm in Southern NH. You (Florida ?) ?

The new Clearview shield arrived. The one that came with the bike was cut down to 17” Which was too short for me. It was also scratched up pretty badly. The 21” is within a hair of being too tall but will be nice in those famous Florida 15 minute rain storms. I whole heartedly recommend Clearview if you already have the factory brackets. A third thicker than factory and beautifully made.

Not done, But this is where I'm at so far. Grips, Mirrors, Windshield, Headlight, and Highway bar. Eventually, Black Levers, new pegs (Once I find out what I can use) and possibly a V&H Exhaust or Freedom Combat 2 into 1. <-- I'd like to be able to hear that on a Custom 900 first though. Then black housing led turn signals.

Could you tell me what mounting hardware you used? Was it just the recommended trigger locking hardware from Memphis shades or something different?

That looks like a stock LT setup. I think he just replaced the 'glass'

I think he was talking about zune’s custom on the previous page. Looks like a Memphis to me

That looks like a Memphis to me. I can almost make out the trigger lock on one side. Hopefully he will confirm. I had a Memphis on the 2007 I had. Loved the trigger lock. I wouldn’t try to use their shield without their mounting system.

Is the Clearview shield wider than the stock version?
Is the Clearview shield wider than the stock version?
2” wider in the lower half of the shield. They say 2” wider but it’s shaped slightly different, so that extra width is only lower in the shield. Clearview gets slightly narrow than the original in the upper 25% of the shield so they loose the extra width at about the half way mark to the transition. Makes for a nicer looking shape and the extra width helps around the upper legs and the hands. When I wrote that it was within a hair of being too tall, I had only sat on the bike and not ridden the new shield yet. I was mistaken…..I can easily see over it and have to slouch noticeable to get completely under it. I am going to raise it an inch to put it right at my sight line for any long trips. I am 189.5 cm tall
Latest update from me. But this weekend i build extensions on my bags. Show you when ready.

Hello, sorry for the long wait. It is a Memphis Shades shield. When I bought my bike it had the bat wing fairing on it which I removed. I just reused the arm brackets that were on it. But the shield came with the trigger lock things that fit to the shield. Hope this helps.
This was taken last week. I took my 2021 to an empty office park near my home and I spent about 90 minutes just working on skills. We has a blast! The Vulcan is incredibly smooth and well balanced.

Hey guys ...... Just joined today. Been riding a little over a year (I got started late) I'm 58 and own a 2011 Vulcan 900 Custom, that I've owned 8 months. I'm glad I was able to find this forum and so far it seems to be very informative.
That's a nice color. Don't know if it's just the lighting but looks like a maroon. Very nice!
You can drop that shield another inch if you dont like looking thru it. judging by your pic on the bike.
