Oh F. Two weeks ago I put on a Baron's Big Air Kit. The bike opened up and had an easier time accelerating. Two days ago I put on an EJK (Electronic Jet Kit) and didn't really ride it around much if any. Today I put on the V&H.

Wow, When I started up my bike I looked around. Those pipes are F in LOUD. I'm really low key and after seeing these pipes on YouTube I thought they would be fine. Man they are LOUD.

I feel like I have to push it out of my complex parking lot before I start it up...But, they do sound pretty damn good. I'm going out tomorrow for a ride around town. I know they have quiet baffles and I might have to get them. I cannot see riding this bike into my work parking lot. Does anyone here have the quiet baffles? How are they?

I'm a teacher so I don't want to attract too much attention.

Iave the "quiet baffles". While they are quieter than the open pipes, they don't quiet them down much. What they do is take a lot of the raspiness out of them and make them a lot more mellow. I think they were worth it. Check your pipes first to see if they do not have baffles. Some of them do but they are just metal cans. If you do have them, go to a bike shop and get some fiberglass muffler packing, wrap your baffles with it and reinstall. You will be surprised how much better they sound. Good luck

Yup, there's a baffle. There's a small screw holding it in place. They look like a shredded can. I'm going to take your advice thanks. It beats paying for them. I do have to tell you that these pipes are AWESOME! They sound GREAT! with the Barons BAK and EJK fuel jet kit the bike is really moving. It's a whole different bike with these mods on it.

my roadburner pipe was pretty loud when i got it, so i know what you mean. i had to make a quiet baffle for mine. now my neighbors dont hate me quite as much....hopefully.:D

I recently installed the Barons' BAK, V&H Fuel Pak and V&H Twin Slash Staggerds. Great performance, though I agree the pipes are way too loud. Today I ordered the quiet baffles and will install shortly when they arrive.

Miketodd - It could be interesting to compare sound results since we have mostly the same mods but taking different approaches to reducing decibels.

They really aren't so loud when idling. I'm a little hesitant to wrap the baffle in fiberglass. Fiberglass fibers getting blown out the back makes me think someone behind me on a bike will be sucking up that stuff. I may opt for the quiet baffles as well. I'm broke; I can't even pay attention.

The quiet baffles worked huge wonders for me. If you want, I can take a video ad decibel reading tomorrow.

Hey Spleeks - did you ever get around to taking any decible readings? I'm looking into the V&H and definitely would want the quiet baffles...I just got a set of Hardkrome American Classic II's and immediately took them off after blowing out the neighborhoods eardrums haha. To me, a good exhaust is "a little louder and throatier than stock, but not much"

I have the twin slash staggered with the quite baffles and have also installed the smart parts hardcore baffles. The take the noise down a notch but keep a nice exhaust note. you can ride all day long and still hear when your finished. Worth a look if you wont them a tad quiter
