I have a rather large brown widow spider squatting in the rear fender of my bike. I have killed several of its family members with a well placed blast from my can of multi purpose lube. This is it when it was out chilling around the chain by the wheel. My garden hose doesnt have enough psi to dislodge it, and I dont want to spray poisons or other chemicals willy or nilly. Guess i will take it to a self serve car wash and try to blast it clear.

Definitely a brown widow. Brown widows are not nearly as bad as black widows. They have almost the exact same venom, but the brown widow cannot inject nearly as much of it as a black widow. More like a mosquito bite or an non-venomous spider bite and almost never, if ever, lethal. Infection is the most common issue with their bites.

Just get a rag (on a stick, long screwdriver, whatever) and brush it off next time it is out and about. Clean out all the webs and be sure to get any egg sacks to make sure the next generation doesn't stake a claim.
