I have a 2011 Vaquero. The tranny was always a little noisy but now that I am at 30,000, it seems to whine more when I let off the throttle. Has Kawasaki done anything about this on the new Vaqueros? Thanks

Thanks for asking. Yes it is the transmission. Gear mesh has always caused a lot of noise. You notice it when you let off the throttle. It doesn't make any noise when you throttle up. I am just wondering if they every changed the design of the gears to eliminate it. I really like the bike a lot.... just not the noise.

Good idea but I have always run full synthetic. It is characteristic of the bike. Does anybody own a newer one say 2017 or newer and does it still make that noise?

I have a 2017 Vaquero, but the only thing I have to compare it to was my 900 Custom. I don't find the tranny noise to annoying or even really noticeable. I've got just over 10K miles on her. So far I haven't noticed any changes to the way she sounds or runs.

Thanks. It doesn't sound like Kawasaki did anything about it. I was just wondering.
