Hello,

My buddy has an EN500 from 1994, belt final drive, and I want to help him changing the tires.

I'm a little confused about the rear axle nut torque.

Into Owner's Manual for Vulcan 500 (belt final drive, 1994) the torque is 127 Nm, and into the Service Manual for EN500 LTD (chain final drive, 1996+ ), the torque is 88 Nm. Could be so big difference for almost the same thing ?

Or, could somebody tell me which value is correct for EN500, belt final drive from 1994 ?

Thanks in advance
Marcel

The en500 up to 1996 had a belt.
The en500 LTD was built from 1996 to 2009 was chain drive, had spoke wheels, and the speedometer was in the fuel tank.

Go by the owners manual for 1994.

Thank you, I will do so.

Do you know also the torque for the front axle nut, for 1994 model, belt drive ? This is not specified into the Owner's Manual.

Thanks.
