In regards to re-baffling mufflers, how would you know it you had too much back pressure?

Would think it would be slow revving, or not revving much at all.You would also need to retune carb, because you would have less flow, kinda the opposite of what you would do when opening up the intake and exhaust. If its not too quiet, relative term, you should be ok if tuned right for that set up.

if you put your hand tight over the end of a normal exhaust, the noise changes a lot, and eventually the engine dies. Thats what too much back pressure is.
If the exhaust noise is like an explosion inside a large hollow tin can, thats too little back pressure. the exhaust noise will tell you when the engine is right. it will be crisp and clean, and bark at you when you twist the throttle quick.
