Where is the best place to purchase tires for the 1600 Nomad?

That's like asking "what's the best place to buy tires for your car/truck?". You are going to get a million different answers from everybody. My dad bought one set that is on my bike now, but got them from dealer. I'm looking to possibly put a car tire on the rear for the next set. Not sure where I'll be able to get it mounted though.

Car Tires for the rear

Let me know how it goes for you mattmo78, I too am interested into going "Darkside". Just make sure you do your homework about knowing the sweetspot tire pressure, mounting pressure, break-in period to get the optimum handling performance from the tire (approx 500 to a 1,000 miles), tire size (VN1600 Classic takes in the 195/55/16 car tire), the ideal tread pattern (symetrical) and the changes in handling (I read a lot of positives from people who have tried it and negatives from people who have not). Good luck.

I know this is late, but Motorcycle Superstore has tires priced not high and they also have a "preferred installer" meaning they have a contract with certain shops to put tires on at a fairly good price. They ship the tires to the shop and you make arrangements to have them put on. Some are like $40 to $50 for a back tire. On a nomad, there is a lot of work. Bags , pipes on the left side all have to come off. Hope this helps.
