Hello there,

I'm thinking of buying a mustang seat, either the vintage or day tripper.

However due to my setup for long trips, I need to know the thickness of the passenger seat. I place my luggage on there and the straps (built in the suitcase) reaching down to the racks on top of my hard cases are just the right lenght right now. I'm concerned that a thicker passenger seat might raise that beyond reach.

That spec is not listed on their web site. If any daytripper or vintage seat owner out there could provide a measurement that would be appreciated.

thanks

On my 800b, the dual Mustang seat is definitely a thicker seat. My pillion claims that she sits up much higher, but, I also know that I'm sitting lower. A crude guess on my part, I would say that the top of the Mustang rear seat is around 1 1/2" higher than the stock. Part of that is in the mounting system as well as the seat thickness. Several inches wider as well. I don't know if this is true for the 900 equivalent as well.

Here's my Mustang Vintage on my '07 Custom. I included pics so you can see where I measured:
Front (Driver's Seat to Top of Passenger): 8"
Rear (Surface of fender to top of passenger): 4 1/2"
Side (Chrome Trim to top of passenger): 6 1/2"

Hope that helps.
