Hello fellow V2K lovers. I wanted to take my beast out today ( good weather here in Central Va. ). I was checking my tire pressure and noticed that the back tire (darkside) remained at 36psi, but my front tire was down to 14psi. I attempted to air it up to 40psi when I heard an air leak. I have a leaking valve stem, so I couldn't take the beast out for a ride. How hard is it to remove the front tire and the valve stem.

br, could it be just the CORE of the valve stem that is leaking? put soap dishwash solution and see where the bubbles are coming from. If it is just the core, it is an ez fix.
let all air pressure out and remove the valve stem core. thread in a new one and air it up. ride.

If the stem itself is leaking at the rim.. pull the front wheel off and take it to a bike shop. let them fix it for you. dont hose your rim trying to pry that tire off with spoons. for $20 they should fix it.. maybe less? out, ponch

Thanks for the advice Ponch, the stem is shot, leaking down at the base of the stem. I'm gonna have to pull the wheel off and take it to the shop. Ever pulled your front wheel, how hard of a job is it.

you will need a lift... while yor at it, get me one, two.

br, you will need a lift. go get yerself a beer. and a mc lift. yor gonna need a 22mm tool. dang, theres a pic in here somewheres of that doohabby. I will take nuther and post asap.
take the front brake calipers loose and let them dangle. I take the front
fender off cuz Im way into nekid skooters.. its as clos to porn as Im allowed.;)
oh yeah somewheres in here. put the skoot on a lift and lift it. the front is good nuff. with the fender off, dont need much lift. 1/4" will do.
theres a couple of allen screws under the right fork leg. loosen them.
use that 22mm tool and unscrew the front axle. take it out. pay 'tention to the wheel/axle spacers. so you know how to put em back later.
ok, so you got that whole wheel uncorked from them fork sliders. well what ya waiten for? roll the booger bear outa there.
ok, I will take a pic of that 22mm tool and patch it in here. out, ponch

I knew it was in here. found it. just get a bolt with 7/8(=22mm) or larger hex head. put two nuts and jam em together. grind the hex head down till it is 22mm. stik it in that wheel axle. turn. lefty lucy. rity tity.

>.> if you lived here I'd bust the tire off the rim for you and stick you a whopping $2 for a valve stem. Any tire guy worth his salt won't even have to take it off the wheel to pop in a new stem. If you know a tire guy, go make that really sad "biker without his bike" face at him. He'll hook you up. ;P

oq, sure it is.? doesn't everone park and work on thier bikes in the foyer? you should see the coal fire bbq pit right next to where I paint.:bomb:

just pulling your leg. this is the shipping room at the back of my shop. there be no warehouse or I'd be welding trailer frames here. hafta do that work outside. but the floor has some cheap vinyl laminate. no matter to me, it is but rent space.

Knew a guy that parked his hog in the living room! He was/is a 1%er though. The bike meant more to him then the house/garage. Soo I was just kinda wondering.

Fellow V2Ker's, are the front valve stems M/C specific or can I pick up a new stem from the local NAPA store. Probably will be easier on the pocket at NAPA.

Thanks PV, hopefully I'll get it done by Friday. I've got to make one of those 22mm tools in your picture, shouldn't be a problem.
