I hope this wasn't previously addressed, if it was, I couldn't find it anywhere. I want to know if the cylinder cans from a 1600 will bolt onto the crank case of a 1500. I don't want to bore the 1500 cans and weaken them, but if like to increase displacement if possible.

The 1500 & 1600 share the same bore diameter, 4" or 101.6mm. The difference is in the stroke. 1500= 3.5" or 88.9mm, where the 1600, is 3.7" or 94mm. The 15 & 1600 carry the same part # for the cylinder liner. The cylinder assemblies have different part numbers, but I have not been able to find a difference. They are interchangeable, but you will not increase the engine size. The difference is in the crankshaft, connecting rod, & piston.

Sure, you would have to split the case and install a 1600 crank, rods, & pistons. But why not just find a used 1600 engine and install it?
