Hello, looking for a solution for a surging problem I have in 4th gear at real low RPM. If I switch gears up or down it goes away.
Almost feels like a flat spot at low RPM. Throttle is barely cranked when this happens. I have added some seafoam with no change. Cleaned intake with no change. Adjusted throttle with no change. Thanks for any replies.

Sounds like you are lugging the motor. These 1700s are happiest around 2500 to 3000 rpm in any gear. Other possibility is get. A Power Commader 5. A good tune will smoothe out the surging and hesitation programmed into the bike's ECU from factory.

That's a pretty obvious sign that your in too high a gear. I can idle around town with my hand off the throttle in second gear but 4th gear is pretty tall. What's the point of lugging that low in 4th
