Tested my speedo against a Garmin on my 2009 500 Vulcan, with 2000 miles, still with original tires, air pressure set. This is what I found.
Indicated=Garmin:
30=27
40=37
50=47
60=56
70=65
80=74
90=83
And the odometer showed 15.9 miles to the Garmins 15.6

Actually that's probably normal.

I found similar results using OEM front tire size. Changing from a 100/90-19 to a 110/90-19 tire corrects most of the speedometer error.

BTW, if the original tires are still on your 2009 bike they really, really, really need to be replaced. Even if they appear in good condition the rubber is no longer 'sticky' enough to be safe.

It evens out after 100mph.
