I just bought a 18mm spark plug socket from Auto store and found out it doesn't work. Too thick. Looks like I need a thin walled 18mm spark plug socket which isn't easy to find at the local stores. I'm sure a motorcycle shop sells um but wondering is maybe a 12 piont socket might work. What have you guys done in the past when the tool kit is no longer with the bike you purchased and you need a spark plug socket that works?

I picked up a 6-point 18mm socket from the Matco truck a few years ago that works. The OD is just under 1" (31/32" to be more precise). See if another auto store might have one or some place like Sears.

What I found out was the standard 6 point 18mm spark plug socket does not work, too thick walled. I went to Sears Appliance and Hardware store and bought the 18mm 12 point deep socket 3/8th drive for $7.99 and it works perfect. Appreciate the help.
