Hey Guys,

I just got my motorcycle class done and am buying a Bluetooth helmet.

I think I like the Bilt line.

And to be honest,,,, It sucked. I ended up sending it back. Per the fitment guide I required a lg , I usually wear a XL but the reviews said they were on the small side so I got a 2XL. With it closed It was Excruciatingly painful. I went with the HJC IS MaxII and was pleased Now I did order the 2XL cheek pads but it is a great fit and I don't believe Bilt has interchangeable pads. Also HJC has made helmets a lot longer than Bilt. I attached a Sena 10 and have been quite pleased.
Just a side note if you are a new rider ( just got your motorcycle endorsement ) I would advise riding without the distraction of a Bluetooth for a few months. Ride safe and enjoy. :devil2:

I absolutely love mine (both of them, I own two)! The only difference between ours is I installed the SENA 20s.

Buy the helmet based on safety first and gadget accessory second. None of that crap is going to matter in an accident.

Yeah, as a fellow new rider (this is the start of my 3rd year riding) I'm inclined to agree with the advice to skip the Bluetooth and just get yourself a basic, no-frills, safe helmet so that you can ride with your full attention on your surroundings. Once you get out on the road and fully experience just how true it is that you should "always ride like you're invisible to all other drivers" and how oblivious many drivers are, you'll likely want to ride no other way. It can be friggin' scary out there on a bike, no matter how careful you are.

I agree with the idea of putting safety first when choosing a helmet. However, that being said...

Having intercom in your helmet can add to your safety as well. If you find yourself riding with others you will need to communicate, either by using hand signals or speaking over an intercom. Speaking with a passenger on your bike can be a serious distraction without intercom. In both instances an intercom makes much more sense and is safer.

Buying a helmet that is designed to install an intercom system does not mean the helmet isn't safe. it just means that you can install a system in it when you're ready. If you are interested in an intercom now or possibly in the future it would be wise to purchase a helmet that is Bluetooth ready. Otherwise you will end up needing to buy a different helmet which will dramatically increase the overall cost of installing an intercom system. Makes sense when you think about it.
