What is the best fit for a saddlebag liner? It is for a 11 nomad 1700. I did order a set and not sure if I like them. Looks like they will interfere with the latch. Is that a common thing on liners?

Here are the 3 different ones I have found.

I have the Kawasaki liners. Have thousands of miles and long trips with them. You just have to make sure you tuck them in behind the latch mechanism an close the lids slowly. Very convenient for traveling.

Another thought... These line the bottom. I haven't tried them but I'm thinking it may be nice.

I bought the bestem deluxe liners on Amazon and really like them. The exterior pockets are handy for doodads and the bags seem very well made.

I use the Bestem ones, and while they're not as good a fit as they were on my '02 Nomad - they work well enough. You do have to make sure they're not overfilled in the inside top, or they will catch in the latch, but it's something you get used to quick enough.

One good suggestion I've seen somewhere recently (and it's one I'll get around to doing myself) is to attach a couple of Velcro straps up inside the lid (easy to do if you have saddlebag guard bolts in there) for somewhere very handy to tuck away your jacket liner or a pair of over pants.

I kept the ones I've had in my 1500 nomad. put them in my vaquero its the same saddle bag basically. I guess what I'm saying is that the kawasaki quality is good these bags are probably 11 or 12 years old priced higher at that time too!

I ordered the bestem ones. I got the one in the link. The 17 are for the 1700cc bikes. The other 2 options from bestem are for the 1500/1600 bikes. I thought about ordering the Kawasaki ones but after looking at the pics and comparing the dimensions. I think they are the same bag with a different patch and price. Someone makes them for Kawasaki.

I just thought it was weird that they interfere with the latch. Sounds like that is a normal thing with liners. I will have to play with it some more and see if I like it or if I want to return them. Just thought they would be handy for over night trips.

I will also have to look into the Velcro strap things sounds like that could be handy as well.

I've found that it's best to have the bag's side zipper on the inside. That way it's easier to get anything out of the side pocket (I keep my phone in there, charging leads, sometimes wallet etc) without taking the whole bag liner out.

Besides, the logo stitched on the side helps prevent anything being caught in the latch.

I made a paper template of the saddlebags and trunk and bought a black floor mat from Home Depot for less than $5.00. From it, I was able to make all three of these liners.
