I'm looking at some 8" risers to accomdate some drag bars on my 2011 Nomad (I have long arms, need some more reach).

All the metric risers are more expensive than the larger selection of Harley Ones. My Nomad OEM riser bolts are 14mm nominal diameter which comes to 0.55 inches.

The Harley risers all take 1/2" (0.50 inches) bolts. Wondering how they will fit though the Kawa top tree bushings, too loose, too tight ? Anybody do this ?

I just noticed this is posted in the 1700 section.
I don't see the 1700 nomad in the fitment.:(

It may help in your search though.:)

Thanks Scott, you're right they don't fit a 1700, those are 10mm and mine is 14mm. But it gave me an idea. Evidently the Kawa's put the bolt down thru the OEM riser with the nut on the bottom of the top tree. Whereas the Harley put the bolt up thru the tree first and into the bottom of the threaded riser (with no nut).

I can probably find some 14mm x 1/2 studs at Fastenal to do the trick.

I looked for a double ended stud; standard to metric for a week or so before someone turned me onto the Barons.

I was just about to drill out my triple tree, when a guy showed me these.

Looks like Barons makes an adapter w/14mm threads as well.

I am planning on buying a Voyager soon.
If all the 1700s have the same risers, and triple tree; I guess I will be buying another adapter too.:)

Wow thanks man. I could not find any 14mm for Kawas but I see these are for Yamas. Those are 12mm x 20mm stud w/14mm D x 37mm shoulder which could work. I've never pulled mine out to see exactly whats going on.

The parts schematic says 14mm bolts so I surmise the 14mm shoulder would fill in that diameter if the bottom 12mm threads protrude out enough.

I had ordered some stainless steel tape to just shim wrap the 1/2" x 13 grade 8 bolts into the Harley risers. But this might work too.

I am assuming that the reference to "shoulder" is the same as an "unthread shank" on bolt specs.
