Riding two up during break in?

I read lots of information regarding break in when searched. I didn't find anything saying whether or not it was OK to ride two up during break in. I have 70 miles on it now and will be riding 200 miles tomorrow by myself. Any information appreciated.

I did break in drills when I got mine to make sure everything was broke in correctly. If you feel confident in your skills with the new bike, I don't see why you couldn't ride a passenger, er, I mean give a ride to a passenger.
I don't see a problem with riding 2-up during breakin. The extra weight won't make any difference to the engine, and in fact, it will make it work just a little bit harder, which is good for it. In any case, modern motorcycle engines don't really need to be broken in like they did years ago. Just avoid going long periods of time at one steady speed. Otherwise, ride as normal, one up, or two up.
Thanks guys. We rode about 60 miles on the Voyager today. The wife says the seat is much more comfortable than the VStar 1300 with Mustang seat. Sold it about 2 years ago. I did have a couple of stops that kind of scared me with her on the back, thought I was going to let it drop. Any suggestions? Other than having the DW lose a few. She's working on it.
The #1 most critical step in modern day engine break in is the 1st oil change. After that the most critical step is the second oil change. There is a pattern for good service and it is on time service.

Thanks Tinker. What mileage is recommended by most for the 1st oil? I've got about 300 miles on it.
For most Kawasaki engines it is 600 miles. Your owners manual should give the first and following intervals.
For 2012its 600 1st, then every 7500. I did about 630, 3,000 and7500, every 7500 since.

My recommendation for first oil changes are a bit extreme, maybe, but this is what I recommend.
First oil change at 100 miles
Second oil change at 200 miles
Third oil change at 600 miles, then T 1000 miles, then every 3000 thereafter.
Of course change the filter with each oil change.

Yes, it's a bit extreme, but your engine will love you for it.
The 600 mile change is important..... if you inspect it you will see some shiny particles in it. That would be the stuff from the breaking in part.

Sorry but I still will not do a 7,500 mile oil change. I know most of you in here do. I still do it 3,000 to 4,000 depending on if I am on the road or not.

With the 7,500 mile recommendation, I do not mind going over the 3,000 a little bit. But not much. I have never had an engine problem with any of the 50+ scoots I have had since 1964..... I have had a lot of other problems....

But I am still anal about 3,000. AN oil change is cheaper than an engine change.... I am the same with my new cars that say 7,000. Not going to happen... same with my cars... never had an engine problem...

I'm with you Bubba, 7500 is to long. I go 5000 on the 1700 and that is with 100% synthetic.
Well, I've missed the 100 mile oil change but will probably change it as soon as I can. I'm over 300. Will probably change it every 3k to 4k after break in.

I also agree with you Bubba, My RAM 1500 says to change the oil when the little computer app that tracks oil life says to, or at 10,000 miles. I did the first one at 2,000 miles, and the next at 7500 with Mobile 1. I'm not sure I will ever let it go much past 5K before I change the oil. The cost of new vehicles is crazy, and they don't even come with mud flaps! For the cost of an oil change, I hope to keep it running for the next 10 years and avoid the potential cost of sludge and repairs.
