So I was thinking about taking some time off work and going on a road trip. How do the Vulcan 800s take change in altitudes, I'm at 164' how high of an altitude can I go before the carb needs to be adjusted. Has any one ever had their carbs give them issues with change in altitude.

I don't know about the 800's but my 500LTD took me to the top of Pikes Peak with a full travel load. I also did an In-State Colorado IronButt SS1000 entirely west of I-25 on it. Several mountain passes over 11,000'.

The thin air does make it down on power but it never faltered.
