I updated the firmware in my PCV last tuesday. I was getting about 35 to 36 mpg before update. Also the one of the cylinders would drop out when the bike got hot. I have road 550 miles since update and am now getting 38mpg and no cylinder drop. Its cool how little things like that can make your bike new again. Anyone who hasnt updated the firmware I highly reccomend it.

Thunder Kit

Prolly going to have to hold off till after our florida trip. I bought a front tire and a new I phone with my extra cash. My phone took a dump. I am thinking probably october. I dont want to put one on till I have the money to get it dyno tuned also. I have the bike running pretty good now so wont mess with it till after our trip. When I am in Miami going to stop by racnrays shop and meet him. Maybe get a throttle mod why I am there.

The firmware fix for the dropped cylinder bug was released back in March. The 07/23/12 release was just the computer software.

First you need to see what firmware you have. Hook up your lap top to unit.
Open you PCV software
To Show the Device Information
Select View >Device Information. This is where you will see device information. If it's not V0.18.13 You will have to download the firmware from the power commander website first.
Here's the link for the download firmware 1813.

http://www.powercommander.com/powercommander/Downloads/powercommander_downloads.aspx?ProdType=PCV

now once you downloaded save it somewhere.

To Update the Firmware
If you have a new firmware file you would like to update to, use the following instructions.
1 Select Power Commander Tools >Update Firmware.

2 Select the device to update.

Each device will need to be updated separately.
3 Click Update.

4 Browse to the location of the firmware file.

5 Select the file.

6 Click Open..

PCV Software will update the attached device.
You will need to reboot your computer once the updates are complete.
