remove rust from welded chrome areas. (help)

Hi. I have attached a picture, and am wanting to know a good way to remove the rust from welded areas of chrome on my bike.. any suggestions?

If it is surface rust a little cleaning will be good to go but rust has a tendency to work from the inside and out.

All the above. Over the years I have used all the devices listed above depending on application and severity of the rust. As suggested try different items to see what will work best for your situation. Good luck.

remove rust from Chrome

I googled the same thing and found Wood Bleach was the stuff to get, its a light Acid you mix with water either soak your parts overnight in a solution or you can spray on leave for a while and wash off with water, I tried it and it works great, most large Hardware Stores stock it.

Good luck in the long run! If the welde was clean and the plate job good, it wouldn't be rusting. Agree with the comment that is is likely a bottom out problem. Most probably from porous plating. Oxalic acid will help remove the corrosion but be sure to rinse very well. To slow up the process, perhaps seal with clear acrylic spray, keep heavily waxed, etc. Keep an eye on it for crack development.
