This one will most likely go down as one of the best rides for me this summer!

I only found out about this ride less than two days before the ride day. I had very little information about it. I didn't know how many riders were going to show. To be safe I decided to show up early.

This is when bikers started arriving and forming up for the ride.

As I was snapping a few pics I was approached and asked if I would ride the Missing Man formation in front. I was stunned they would ask me. There were already four different official American Legion Riders groups that showed up. Riding the Missing Man formation is an honor. I thought for sure they would ride that formation.

I found out later that two Gold Star Moms (Mothers that lost sons/daughters in combat) knew that I was retired Navy and had lost my little brother who was Air Force. They were the ones that asked if I could ride the front formation.

So...I repositioned to the front and formed the Missing Man formation.

I swelled with pride as we cruised down the Highway with 65 bikes in closed formation. People were on the side of the Highway with flags waving and old Veterans saluting as we rode past. I imagined my little brother riding in the formation with me.

We paraded through two towns before we finally came to the end.

Sorry I wasn't able to provide any pics of the ride. I was all formed up and kinda busy. So all I got are some before and after pics of bikes parked.

There were some folks that claimed to have taken some good shots and I asked for copies. I'll share as soon as I get them.
