New member looking for alittle advice, i just picked up my '09 900 Custom and the rear brake pedal does'nt trigger the brake light, the front brake is fine brake lights up fine, but when i press the rear brake, no light.....any suggestions??

I would start with the rear brake switch. Its the part that gets the most abuse, and is most likely to fail.

yes check the switch, the little spring thingy sometimes comes loose during energetic cleaning, you'll see a threaded plastic collar on the switch housing that you can use to adjust how soon you want the light to come on after depressing the pedal you may need to adjust it, while your down there if all that looks ok check the pigtail connection to the switch mine actually came unplugged once for no reason

If you adjust the pedal travel (like I did) you have to adjust the switch also or it won't come on. Maybe someone adjusted the pedal and forgot about the switch.
