Not trying to steal someone else's idea... I got the idea off of another site, but I decided to do the mod to my '07 VN900C a few months ago. It turned out great! It DEFINITELY made a difference on the mid to high power range! The factory placed inlet draws hot air from up against the rear cylinder, and by transfering this inlet to the front, it forces and directs air, directly into the air filter. And you can hear it much better Just thought I'd share a few pics. Also I made drawings and diagrams of the cover bracket I cut out of aluminum and the cut out needed to install the rubber air inlet on the front side of the intake housing. It would be easy to hack this up, but I really took my time and thought it out. If anybody is interested, I will modify yours the same way for VERY cheap. just let me know! I liked this because it helped the performance and still looks factory! Here is a youtube link, and some pictures.
