i have a 05 1600 Nomad, and run synthetic motor oil, lately I've noticed, if i have not ridden the bike in a while, start it up, pull in the clutch, kick it in gear it will jump foreword and die. Starts right back up and goes into gear with no problem. Could this be the syn. ?

It's not the oil, but it is your clutch plates sticking. Next time you start it, try squeezing the clutch lever a few times before putting it in gear.

OK,try this. Take a plastic wire tie and use it to hold your clutch lever in at night. The next time you start it, remove the tie,and hold the lever in.

Try this:

1. Start engine and warm up as usual.
2. Push kill switch and put in first gear.
3. While holding clutch in, rock back and forth until you hear/feel a thunk.
4. Release kill switch, still holding the clutch and still in gear.
5. Start engine and ride off.
