its Oh Fishal, I traded my v2k to my buddy this weekend for his/my old RoadStar. He needed an new project and a bigger bike. I need... a nuther bike project? I had pushed/mod/cut the RedBear'n bout as far as had int'rest. Now its my buddies turn to push the envelope. So for the next couple weeks he/me/we are going to strip both bikes and port over appropriate acoutraments(mods) that each has some personal emotional investment.. such as 16" apes, aka big monkey bars with all the s/s braided lines. He has all wires inside. I am confident we can swap both sets of bars with integral risers tween the bikes complete with all hand controls and levers. Yeah, some may say its not like for like. poo 4 brains, they are. I can do wtf I want. its our bikes. it will get done. There are mor n few cosmetic items that will find home on the Beast. The Roadie will get put back to as close to stock. I have several potential new buyers lined up, I would not sell the v2k to anyone that was not already well seasoned rider. it is a big bike, not for noobees.

My buddy says hes been on (this?) site and read plenty of your hi, er lo-jinx. not deterred, he still went for the deal. pix later, I got to open up shop. poncho

How about "El Centauro" ?? Ties in nicely with your "Poncho (Pancho) Villa" moniker don't you think?

Of course, he may hate it!

doomies,, itsa mix. the motor design is very ol skool 1921 vintage. since Piaggio acquired MG they been dumping money into upscale the product line w/o killing the kulture.. dam that sounds familiar? In spite of its massive look, its not a skreamer but rather a strong work horse with a soul. test rode this 2yrs ago, didnt bring it back 4hrs till it needed a tank refill.. would have bought it then, cept the price seemed steep (italian) and the ***** came on my radar.

butt it is loaded with electronic tech. and they moved the cam(s) into the jugs same as Beamer Rseries, still use rockers and tappets, 4 valve heads are So EZ to service. you can do a complete motor rebild (why?) while its still sittin in the frame with tank and seat still on it.

This will be my 4th goosk.. I have v7 stone which is a kikass city bike. but not something you would want to spend a week on. this new v14 will be my new city-day bike and can be fitted for tour duty if I need a back up. poncho

big heapum chief is my main de'facto "long n winding road" song,, er bike.. I dont ride it in the city traffic. only got on it 4 times last year, managed to squeak out 12k smiles.. dam ima gettin slow(r) these daze.

I invited my buddy to tag along. now that he has v2k road worthy for the long haul. chance are no, he doesnt do bak2bak2bak long daze in the saddle.

so I opened it up to my nephews, either can fly in here and borrow one my big bikes, ride part way and peel off head for home mid week. keep my spare skoot till sept/oct. I will fly there(seattle) and ride home. nuther trippage. win/win.

at this stage of life, its imperative to get in as many bucket list items as reasonable while health is still cooperative. I still have my 12month down under and patagonia excursions to knock out. further down the road, poncho

VERY SAD DAY.
Hey PV, I don't think Jap bikes are your thing mate, you prob,ly feel bit imbar arsed riding it.
You just sold the best bike ever, when it overtakes you, like you are standing still, on your, non Jap motorcycle, think about what could have been mate, its a sad day on this forum, I thought you were hard core V2K, but you gave it the flick like it was nothing. You had the perfect project bike, no need to sell it, all those plans for it, sold, gone. Shame on you. Traitor. Best you get over to the Guzzi muzzi forums and work out how to get some power out of the piece of Italian beauty.
Sorry, I cannot congratulate you on your biggest mistake.

hoonie,, probly the only big mistake mite be reply to this post? Butt will take for granted its all in jest..

I acquired my v2k in Aug 08 as a left over 07, negotiated a decent deal for a project bike, as I had recently cancelled my order with www.exilecycles.com because they were 6-12mos to ship a basic rolling chassis.
at this time I was the owner of 07 electraglide(Betty the Buick) 07 RoadStar(2nd one of these fine machines) 07 Guzzi Griso. I had just and previously unloaded my 06 superglide, 05 sporster, 05 roadstar, 04 sv1k(best bike motor ever), 03 guzzi lemans, 02 meanstreak, 02 shadow, 00 sporster, 84 supermagnum.. and probly a few others I am not rembring at the moment..

So to set your thinking in proper perspective, the V2K was never to be a ONE and ONLY full time machine.. but rather a chop/bob project.. In this role I would have to say it performed exceptionally. I was a most easy bike to disassemble and reassemble and it lended itself to personal mods w/grace.. much unlike your posting.

having sold the roadstar, I had a batwing fairing so I put it on the v2k, it fit nicely and was fun to mess with all the hardley core nutballs wtf was this odd machine they couldnt recognize. so it had an element of social unrest purpose integrated into its character. with this new tangent of expression, I pushed it thru the full bagger faze complete with Slamming it 2" drop front/back. I soon got bored of hardley crowd tripping over themselves to identify this anomaly in their ranks. Thats when the knife,, er the saw came out. I cut it up and Ratt'd the beast. that was fun!

12 I sold Betty, so I re-bagged and sheilded the RedBearn and pressed her into tour duty. was fine, but I had other visions, and was sorely dissapointed with Kaws new v17 rehashed v16 rehashed v15. been ther dun that.

2yrs ago I was looking at the F6B and then this v14 kalifornicator.. the new ***** 111 (motor only) was in the cycle news and ***** had been acquired Polaris with new Chief at 18k. I plunked down a grand/dealer matching for a bike unseen and 6mos to production. My bro cut teeth on ****** in the 50s and this is/was to be a ride down memory lane (he is cemented into hardley Kult) is why I parked it in his garage 3mos last summer, so he had to look at it everyday. thats watt bros do.

so the v2k served its purpose very well for 7.sumthin years and was time to pass it along to another worthy soul (buddy) who has expressed admiration of it for years and now its his turn. I will be rite ther with him, encouraging the process. his art work.

NOW as for degradation of choices and moving on and along.. I find such rhetoric as posted above much too like CHURCH folk and Hardley crowd, that if you dont dance to their specific tune in the steps that They happen to be currently steppin, well then your not worthy of spittin on.. Yeah that pretty much my take away..

fortunately I have forged long term relationships thru much failure and forgiveness with many kaw.. persons and not jus of the Texkin variation, so much that such drivel doesnt wont change none much the way I perceive this motley krew assembly of misfitts. this extends to all my riding bro's either side of this wobbly orb. poncho
