ok let make it smiple 2 bikes both 2007 vulcan 900
both bikes have powercommanders
power commander come with 4 plugs for the fuel injectors.
2 go into the fuel injector them selfs and the other 2 clip in to the stock injector harness.
still with me.

both bikesssssssss run good, 2 diffent bikes and 2 diffent set up.

pownercommnader clips then clip into the fuel injectors are the same.

the other 2 clips that go into the stock fuel injectors clips are connected diffent on both bikes.

bike #1 powercommander says is clips are hook up right
bike #2 powercommander says is cliped wrong.

bike 2 the bike that is wrong runs so much better then bike #1

bike #1 clips that go into stock injectors clips is as followed

br/wr to r/o

wr/b to y/r

bike #2 that runs better and is hooked up wrong per powercommander

wr/br to y/r
wr/b to o/r

how is it suppose to be hooked up and if bike #2 runs better why and should it be made like bike #1

Did you try swapping the P/C's from bike 1 and 2?

Quite frankly, it makes no sense that if the units are the same they would be different. Did they send you the wrong unit?

2 bikes
2 powercomannders
2 diffent hook ups
1 runs better
1 that runs better powercomnnder say is hook up worng
does it matter how 2nd set of clips are pluged in
Are you sure that the two PCs are for a 2007 Vulcan? If the bikes are identical then the PCs should be identical and it sounds like they're not. Have you looked at the serial/model numbers of them? Call Dynojet

It does matter how you plug these in. There is a thing called mapping. I know on air cooled bikes, the rear cylinder has to be mapped richer, because of the heat. I am sure that the same is true on the Vulcans. I will take mine out and give it a good flog and check it with the Raytech and tell you the results.

You may also have a defective box. It is not uncommon.

I am not a big fan of these black boxes. I prefer a program that you can hook up to a PC and do your own thing. But it's all trial and error.

Ok here are the results. Ambient temp 72 degrees.

Idle at 5 minutes
Cyl. 1 110 degrees Cyl. 2 118

Idle at 10 minutes
Cyl. 1 143 degrees Cyl. 2 152

After a 2 mile run and idle for 5 minutes
Cyl. 1 171 Cyl. 2 182

Fans cutting on
Cyl. 1 180 Cyl. 2 196

The rear cylinder has to be mapped richer. These things run lean as it is, I hear baby farts all the time.

If you put the #2 plug on #1 you may feel you have more power because it is getting more fuel but at the expense of possible engine damage of #2. I've heard about it and seen it.
