For those who have had Ivan's for awhile now (say 10,000 miles) - do you still love it?

I am thinking about sending mine out before riding season starts... I've had several tuners that people raved about and then after some time, they didn't like. I have the EJK right now, and it works fine, but I want to have the 'perfect' tune and that's what Ivan's seems to be.

Thanks in advance.

65k on my flash............... works fine.
Perfect? No. It requires higher octane fuel and the cold idle is unstable, 2 things not mentioned in Ivan's ad. And the engine is much more sensitive to intake air leaks, something these engines are infamous for and needs to be addressed regardless of what ECU you have.
But the improved performance and drive-ability and longer fuel range are very welcome improvements and worth the price.

What octane fuel are you using? I have always used 91.

Are you neglecting the Yammy Garry? 65k on the old bike would seem to indicate that you are... although it wouldn't surprise me at all to learn you'd done more than that on the new one.

I have around 10k kilometers on my bike after the flash now, both with a BAK (Chucksters), and without one (currently back to K&N filter in OEM airbox).

It's still hands-down easily the best thing I ever did to the bike.

I also had the EJK tuner before I flashed, and had it running very well with that setup. But this is far, far better. That feeling of "this is how this bike was supposed to feel right from the start" has never gone away.

Don't have 10,000 yet but so far I still enjoy mine. The only downside I've seen so far is that the exhaust note is lower so my Cobra pipes no longer drown out the higher pitched valve and belt noise.

My bike used to run fine on 87 or 89 before the flash, pings like crazy now so 91 is required. I ride the far north every summer and pumps in Yukon and NWT have only 87 and diesel so I have to switch back to my stock ECU for that trip.

Thanks, I always use 91 so, it shouldn't be a problem.

You'll be fine with 91.
BTW, I have a fork brace for your Nomad, do you still want it or shall I let it go to the next taker?

I have been thinking about this for a bit. I run and EJK and the air temp resistor mod. Honestly my bike runs like a raped ape, however I hear it could be better.

Anyone have any comparison, WHat type of fuel mileage are you getting?

I have over 5000 miles with the flash. I am happy.

I run 93. I still get pinging in 5th and 6th when I go to the wall. I rarely go to the wall in those gears, as it responds wayyyyy better than before without doing so. I don't get pinging in the lower gears, and the response in the lower gears is wayyyyy better than it was before. I have Rac-N-Ray's throttle mod, which was great before the flash but was maybe too sensitive afterward. I now have to be careful in 2nd going around corners not to over-goose it. For awhile, I thought I might take the throttle mod off, but I've gotten used to it. Very small changes are very responsive, but I've adjusted.

I would do the throttle mod again in a heart beat, even with the pinging. I think at 91 octane, the pinging might be worse, but perhaps I'm one of the rare birds with that problem (though I've seen others). I just don't go to the wall much in 5th and 6th.

Happy and safe riding,
Dan

You are not the only one with pinging issues. There is a few on here that have noted various issues but will say Ivan has been been good to try and resolve each one individually.
