I'm in NE Oklahoma... Sapulpa is where I live, but most people just cross their eyes and boggle when I tell them that, so... it's just a bit SW of Tulsa. :)

I know Skeeter and Mattmo are near this area, but not sure if they're still active.

Actually looking forward to tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday! Highs in the upper 50's and low 60's, and some good January riding weather!! Especially nice since we just suffered through a couple weeks of single digits. Blegh!

I'm still hear Sketso. I agree with ya, I'm looking forward to a few warm days too. If you make it out for a ride be sure and watch for all of the sand laying around. It could turn a nice riding day into a unpleasant one quickly.

By the way, who were you posting this to? Is there another Okie hanging around here?

Heh, not posting to anyone in general, but rather getting my location out there on our new "regional" forums, in case the opportunity arises for a meet, greet and eat! :) Of course, we need to throw a ride in there too. :D

I got ol' Redemption out of the garage for the first time since the Christmas eve blizzard and burned 1/3 of a tank, and had a blast! I stopped and got some new leather gauntlets and some long undies too, so I can try a little bit more of this cooler riding. Poor girl had a helluva time starting, but once she was up and running, she performed just as amazingly as ever! Thinkin' about braving the upper 30's in the morning and taking her to work. Supposed to be around 60 by the time I get off.

Hmmm, I must of missed the "regional" forums part. Is there one here and where is it at? Good to hear you went for a ride and she performed well. I wanted to ride but needed to cleanup the holiday decorations from outside and perform a few assorted tasks. 8(

A meet, greet and eat soon sounds good along with a ride! Come on warm weather...........cause I'm tired of grey and cold days!

I see the light now and found the regional forum, duh!

The wife and I both have people all over Oklahoma. I was conceived in OK, so I consider myself a semi-native. God allowing, we will retire there very soon now. Ya'll keep the roads in good shape for us, huh?

I grew up hunting north of Broken Bow every year. Made the trip up there during the summer to site in the rifles, and in the fall for both black powder and rifle season. I haven't been back since joining the Navy though.

I'm still here Sketso & Skeeter! I've been a somewhat dormant since winter crept in. I love the snow, but this cold weather has really taken me out of the motorcycling mood.

I just got back on here today, and am getting antsy to get back on the bike again. I hope I can pry it back from my dad. He's been holding it hostage since it got cold (I wasn't really riding it anyway, so I let him take it).

This regional thread is pretty cool to have. It'll be good to have our own little spot. Just to put a bug in your ear, I'm going to host my third poker run sometime in May. It's about a 100 mile route through Osage County and it the stops are all at Osage Million Dollar Elm Casinos. It's a really pretty ride to take with some great scenery.

Good to see you're still around Mattmo.

I agree, this regional thread should make it easier to get ride plans posted. Now, if you can pry your bike loose from your dad’s hands before long so you can get some spring riding in! LOL

I hear you concerning the weather; I'm sick of this cold, cold and wet winter. I'm just hoping we don't get hammered the next few days as bad as they say. It took forever for the last one to melt away!

I'm getting riding and cabin fever myself so I've started spending my spare time working on the bike. Add an accessory here, a little polish there and a LOT of day dreaming along the way for now. It won't be toooooooooo long before we can ride again, I hope!

Keep us posted on the Osage poker run and maybe we can all meet up for it.

I'm with ya in wishing this cold blast will just pass us by with a trickle of what they're promising. That will be bad enough! I tried to stop at WalMart for some dog food tonight and found myself close to being trampled several times! Glad we were already stocked up on food and such... LOL

Interested in that Osage poker run Mattmo, keep us filled in on the details!!

Will do guys. Right now it's looking like either May 8 or 15 for the dates of the ride. I need to do some more research and pitch it to the board for their approval.

BTW, all of you in the NE Oklahoma area, Saturday afternoon I'm meeting up with a few more OK Vulcan owners to discuss a Tulsa/NE Oklahoma VRA (Vulcan Rider's Association) chapter. If you'd like to come in and sit in on the discussion, give me a holler. They're discussing basic guidelines, introductory charter and some of the ground breaking stuff, so it should be an interesting meeting.

Shoot me a PM and I can feed ya the details, if interested. :D

I'm going to busy Saturday afternoon, but I'm interested. Keep me posted. That's sounds like a great idea. I found a Vulcan Nomad group that I joined up with. I haven't met any of them or done any rides yet, but our region has a big rally in Eureka Springs every summer.

Mattmo,
Wish you could make it, but maybe next time!

Are you talking about the "Plains VROC" folks and the "Spring Fling" over in ES May 13, 2010 thru May 16, 2010? I'm a member over there as well, but just lurk for the most part.

Skeeter,
No, I'm joined a group called "KawaNow". It is a Nomad only group that I found. The rally that they hold is at the end of June. There are sub-groups all over the country and some in Europe and Australlia too.

Sketso,
How did the meeting go this weekend? Did you get some people to show up?

Yup, Skeeter and Annie were there, and the guy who set up all the basic info, James. Plus... (and I'm horrible with names) Dave and Chris? We set a few basic VRA chapter rules, voted on the name (Green Country VRA) and established the basic officers. 1st official business oriented meeting in March!

James Lam is the pres.
I'm the VP. (and active recruiter, lol)
Annie (Skeeter's wife) is the secretary
and Chris as treasurer

3 900's and 3 1500's so far, and many members to add! LOL Would love to see ya at the March meet if we can. It seems like a good group of folks all interested in enjoying our Vulcans to the utmost! We're almost official now, and just waiting on the final nod from the national VRA folks. It will be kind of cool tooling around the area as a group from time to time.

Sketso, Tom was the other Nomad rider that was present. But hey, I'm terrible with name.........period.

Mattmo, I looked at that forum previously but had forgotten about it. I'll take another look and see what's going on over there. What user name are you using on the KawaNOW forum?

My screenname is Mobandy78 in the KawaNow forum. Really nice people over there. Doesn't take much to join up, just email Trip (head guy) your info and he'll get you set up. Lot's of great info there for the Nomads.

That's pretty cool that the meeting went well and things are getting under way. I'm looking forward to getting in on that.
