Personally I prefer something that is motorcycle specific.

However, anything that carries the JASO-MO rating will work. Rotella 15W-40 synthetic does, among others. The JASO-MA rating, among other things, means that it's safe for the wet clutch, where other oils could cause issues with the wet clutch. All motorcycle specific oils are also approved for wet-clutch use. As nearly all motorcycles use a wet clutch (save for an odd Ducatti!)

I use rotella t6, the blue bottle, no problems to report.

Small world! my wife still has family in Throggs Neck, just over the bridge just off of E. Tremont Ave. I've had a fun night or two at the beach clubs over there.

I grew up in East New York, Brooklyn... before I became the homicide capitol of NYC. The 75th precinct.
