OEM Gel Seat Question...

Greetings. I picked up a mint used OEM gel seat yesterday, and rode it 200 miles. It seems awfully firm, and I felt like I was sitting on my butt bones.

Is this normal, and will this seat be comfortable for long rides?

I have done 5000 miles on my gel seat now. You will need a few hundred miles to wear it in. I love mine! I regularly do 10+ hours on it or 500+ miles on twisties. The stock seat is crap - looks good for main street cruising but cannot be used for serious touring.

Most aftermarket seats are very firm. That's actually what helps yout rear end not get numbed like as with the stocker. I also have a Corbin and its the same but in the long trips a firm seat is more comfortable than a softer onw. My friends mustang is the same way too. I just got my gel seat a few days ago and just tested it today for about 30 minutes. looks like it will take a few hundred miles to break in to by rear shape.
