So let's say someone ran a 1600 classic with out any oil for around 3 min. After putting oil in it ran fine. What should this someone be looking or listening for as to wear on the motor?
Thanks. I'll be sure to pass on the info...:)

Usually rod bearings have a hard time living in a no oil condition, so a knocking would be something to listen for.
Otherwise, any damage, where ever it might be, that occurred may not show up until more miles are on the clock and that could include knocking, tapping, oil burning, etc.

Thanks. I would think oil burning would be an obvious problem to see. Hadn't considered that. I'll keep an eye out. These bikes make so many noises anyway.

Just a thought. Maybe change the oil and filter again soon. May help remove anything that did wear off.

When you say "ran it", do you mean letting it idle on the kickstand for 3 minutes, or rolling down the highway at 65?
