"Nice bike mate..."

1997 Views 13 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  GFISH
Pulled up at the lights a couple of nights back and a young couple pull up beside me in a small car.
"What sort of bike is that mate? It sounds awesome."
"I've never heard of a Vulcan. It's a beautiful machine."

A couple more quick comments, the lights change and we take off.

Happy bike owner/modifier moment when your ride is being admired...

Wow... those LEDs are really something. I contemplated mucking around with some LEDs, but a bit more subtle than that!!!!

Is that a hypercharger with stock pipes? I assume you have some fuel control as well?
Believe me the bright LED's are needed down here at night. We have a lot of stupid drivers here. The air scoop is a Cobra and the pipes are stock but with a slight debaffle. and oh yea I also have a fuel tuner.

We have stupid drivers here too but I'm not sure what is legal with LEDs...
LEDS are a bit "look at me look at me" but I do agree they look nice.
MrWalko, how do you like your mirrors? At a quick glance, they look like they have a slimmer profile than stock. Do they still provide a decent rear view?
Yes, 'nice bike indeed mate'!

It's a great feeling what you experienced and is testament to your careful selection of aftermarket parts and research.

Enjoy the glory........

You are absolutely right fawlty. I am trying to say LOOK AT ME and please don't hit me. I couldn't tell you how many close calls I've been in.
and MrWalko they are legal here as long as they are not flashing.
Not so lucky here in Louisiana. Speaking from experience. Got pulled over one night when we "forgot" to turn off the blue led's once we got on the road. Hubby loves the led's, my taste is more streamline. One more reason I got my own.

Yes, they are slimmer than stock and it took me 10+ hours of riding to get used to them. The biggest frustration I have with the mirrors is that they were advertised as convex glass and they are clearly not. Convex should widen the field of vision substantially. I tried contacting the manufacturer and can't get a response.

Thanks mate! I have been loving it!

Handy to know. I'm guessing there are also colours that need to be avoided. Can't decide yet what colour LED goes with a maroon bike though.

My friend has a maroon Honda. He went with the red LED's. They're not as bright as mine but they look good. They do sell kits that can change colors.
GFISH, just be careful... in Texas you cannot have red visible from the from the front of the bike. Other colors are ok as long as the bulb is not visible and they do not blink rotate flash or strobe (steady burn only)!!
Yea that's what I have. Blue lights, steady burn. Even one of our cities finest said "nice"
