They really need to stop calling them quiet baffles. There is nothing quiet about them. Dulling baffles might be a better name.

CRU, they sound similar to my set. Did you need to make any changes to the bike after installing them? I am going to take my tank off this weekend. Have a look at the fuel filter IF I can find it. Manual and YouTube doesn't show it. Change the plugs and try injector cleaner. I do really thank all of you for helping a new member. There are two of us in Maryville, Tn that own these Classic LT models so you're getting a two-for-one helping deal. Good weekend all.

That's not me or my bike. It's just a video I found of the baffles. I do have baffles on my bike though, two sets actually. The Vance & Hines quiet and the Smartpartz Hard Kore baffles. Same story. Not quiet, just dull. Takes the sharpness off the combustion.

I am not sure about this because I havent had a Nomad in Years. but just bought another one. After many years on a road king I finally saw the light and came back. There is a "choke" beside the key but it really isnt a choke. its a high idle that will go in all by itself after the engine starts. I always make sure it goes back in after the bike warms up some. (I think).
Nope. This is a 900. No manual choke or high idle. It's all controlled by the ECU.

You wont find a fuel filter its in the tank and is part of the fuel pump so taking your tank off wont help much unless your going to pull the fuel pump.
If you are not seeing anything in the tank like a dirt film or rust then more than likely its not your filter. It could be a pump going bad since they take 43 PSI for the injectors to be properly pressurized if i remember correctly.
I would try the cleaner first and some of the other recommendations. Not saying it couldn't be fuel pump but the symptoms don't match up to me.

Actually I followed the advice in here, added Seafoam, sprayed the intakes and swapped the air filter and it starts much better now. Next will be new plugs. Many MANY thanks to all of you for writing me back.
