Welcome aboard and congrats on your first bike! Do yourself a HUGE favor and consider taking a safety course like the MSF. You use their bikes and they teach you valuable skills you will need.

hi everyone, I just put a deposit down on a 2008 Vulcan 900 custom that I will pick up late next month(hopefully by then the north east thaws out); super excited as this will be my first motorcycle. Decided to make an account here as from with experience with my other hobbies(HT and computers) forums can be a wealth of information. When April rolls around I will try to post pictures.

Welcome to the forum. I am new here, too. I lived in Woonsocket for 2 years, then moved to North Smithfield for 2 years. I am originally from Mass.

Welcome. Did exactly that in July 2014. First bike - Vulcan 900 Custom. Have never taken any kind of course, not that I recommend that route. I'm 6'-5" and there were a couple of times I almost dropped the bike but just managed to save it. And each time it was at 2-3 mph with my wheel slightly off center and a pothole! I've learned. Good riding bud!
