hi all, decided to join up here today. going to be checking out a 2005 Vulcan 500 this Friday to purchase. i currently ride a Rebel 250 and have always been interested in the Vulcan 500. i love trying to buy fixer uppers and selling for a profit while learning and gaining experience in the process, but there's a good chance i may sell the Rebel and keep the 500.

i plan on getting a repair manual and seems like only things i need to do right away are an oil change and replacing the dust seals (weather has apparently made the rubber curl up). i've never removed the front forks of a bike so i'm hoping the procedure will be an easy one. any links or advice is welcome (the only step by step i've seen has been on vulcan500.com).

of course if there is a local member that has the experience and tools for replacing the seals, help is welcome and food may be compensation! :D
